Adding a Custom Domain

What is a custom domain and why do I want one?

Setting up a custom domain with RocketAmp can be an important step for your business's success with RocketAmp. For professional and enterprise merchants, it allows you to use your website name instead of getrocketamp.com in your customers' browsers making your AMP site feel more cohesive with your main site, as well as minimizing confusion for your visitors.

It also helps to remove any domain mismatch errors that Google may flag when indexing your site. This occurs because they see our site as the host, even though we use canonical links to inform them that the content belongs to you. Using a custom domain tells Google that you want your site name to appear at the top of the AMP page and that it will match the rest of your site.

How to add a custom domain to RocketAmp

You can add a custom domain in a few short steps.
  1. Login into your hosting providers website
  2. Find the section to add a CNAME in your DNS settings
  3. Create a new CNAME record that points to 'custom.getrocketamp.com'
  4. Login to your RocketAmp account and click on the 'Domain Registered' button

Once you complete this, we'll be able to start scanning your store, creating your optimized AMP mobile site, and submit it to Google!
